Coffee not only tastes good: it is also a natural pick-me-up. A cup of coffee can enhance alertness and concentration and give you a feeling of renewed energy.
Many people believe that a cup of coffee has a sobering effect after drinking alcohol, but this is not true. Drinking coffee may make you feel more alert, but it will not eliminate the alcohol from your body and your reaction times and motor skills will remain affected.
Although coffee can make you feel alert, it does not adversely affect the quality of your sleep. It might take longer for some people to fall asleep after drinking coffee, but the quality of the night's rest does not deteriorate.
Decaffeinated coffee is an ideal alternative for evening drinking if you find regular coffee too stimulating!
