The Perfect Cup of Coffee

Enjoying the taste of roast and ground coffee has never been easier. At Douwe Egberts we want you to get the most from your coffee experience, so we have included some helpful tips for making the perfect cup of roast & ground coffee every time.

There are a number of ways to brew roast and ground coffee in the comfort of your own home, the most popular are the cafetiere and filter methods. Perfect Cup of Coffee

Hints & Tips to ensure the perfect cup of coffee
  • Always make sure your coffee maker is clean.
  • Choose the right grind of coffee for your coffee maker. Ideally  medium ground coffees should be used in cafetieres and finely groundin filters and espresso machines.
  • Use fresh water to brew the coffee. Water makes up to 98% of a cup of coffee and its quality will affect the flavour.
  • Allow one rounded dessertspoon per cup. You may wish to adjust according to your taste.
  • Use off the boil water. Boiling water will scald your coffee and impair its flavour.
  • To ensure the full flavour and aroma of your coffee always use within 3 weeks of opening.
  • After opening make sure you reseal the pack and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
  • Serve coffee immediately to enjoy its full rich flavour and aroma.
  • To keep coffee warm, transfer to a thermos flask. Never reheat coffee as this will affect its flavour.
