Douwe Egberts Good Origin is one element of our long-term commitment to move to 100% sustainability for all coffee sourcing and production.

Coffee is the world’s second most important export for developing countries after crude oil. Many people worldwide make their living from coffee production and as one of the world’s leading coffee roasters we take that responsibility very seriously.

In March 2004, we created a partnership with UTZ CERTIFIED with the aim of establishing a standard for sustainable coffee based on environmental, economic and social practices.

In addition to Good Origin, we have already begun to introduce UTZ CERTIFIED certified coffee into our existing Douwe Egberts core range with the aim of ultimately offering 100% sustainable certified coffee in all of our products.

Moving to 100% sustainability for all our coffee sourcing is complex and will take time. We are wholly committed to working within a framework that accommodates all producers whether large or small, without compromising on quality.
